Fort Worth

Today we went to the other part of DFW, Fort Worth. We went to the historic Stockyards district that claims to be the "gateway to the west".
It was a pretty touristy district. Jasper took a ride on the bull, and didn't mind that we didn't pay to make it run.
The main attraction at the Stockyards is the long horn cows that are corralled down the street twice a day.
Jasper was equally interested in the cows and the horses that were used to keep them walking down the street.
For lunch, we went to a nearby Mexican restaurant in a tree lined courtyard. The food was delicious, but it was pretty hot to sit outside.
The historic steam train wasn't running on a weekday, but the kiddie train was ready to go.
Jasper didn't mind that the train didn't have tracks and that the route was around a parking lot behind the stables.
Next stop was the petting zoo. I don't know who was more excited to see the goats, Jasper or Pat.
Then it was back to Aunt Kate's for a nap and dinner time. Pat went to the Jays game at night. Tomorrow we're taking the kids to the afternoon game.
