We spent the day exploring around near our place in Sao Vicente.
Jasper is finally getting back into using the potty after nearly falling in the large toilets at the last house.
Ellis is getting really close to walking. She will stand on her own for a few seconds and will lunge forwards and sort of take a step or two (before falling).
Ellis always opens her mouth as wide as possible when she thinks that food might be on the way.
Before lunch we went to a chapel/ clock tower way up on a hill looking out over the city.
Jasper had a few little meltdowns today, but he mostly had a good day.
He loves to watch the cars and people in the town below from the balcony on our house.
After lunch, Pat watched the kids while the rest of us went on a levada hike.
It was a good thing we didn't bring the kids, there were lots of spots where the trail was right on the edge of the cliff and it was a bit slippery from the rain.
There were also three tunnels on the trail that were built for the levada streams to flow through. The final tunnel was 1000 feet long. You could barely see the light of the opening on the other side.
It was a really unique hike, I'm glad to have had the chance to walk it.
Pat had a good afternoon with the kids- successfully getting both to nap and picking up lots of snacks at the grocery store.
There is no bath at this house so Ellis got to enjoy a kitchen sink bath while Jasper had a shower with daddy. Tomorrow, back to Funchal.
