Jasper woke up with a sore throat this morning, but after some extra rest and some "special" food for sore throats, he seemed to have forgotten about it by mid morning. Ellis also has a bit of a cold, but it doesn't seem to be slowing her down any.
We had a picnic lunch at school after class to not have to lug the kids home between class and surfing, as the surfing beach is right near school.
Pat took the kids to the park, and Ellis did a good job of getting dirty. She was called pigpen for the rest of the day.
While eating lunch, we saw a man on a bicycle who rides around to sharpen knives. He has a speaker attached to the front of his bike to announce his presence (like the ice cream truck), and his knife sharpener is right on the bike and uses pedal power to turn the grinding wheel. Pat said the set up reminded him of the "hustlers in Vietnam".
During nap time, we walked south along Playa Victoria, a huge beach that extends 3 km along the coast of the new part of Cadiz. There are even more beaches south of that.
My surfing class actually happened today! The waves were much smaller and more at my level today, plus having some instruction helped. I managed to understand the class even though everything was in Spanish. I did jam my finger on the board and bruised it up pretty bad. I hope it heals on its own.
The kids played at the park the whole two hours of my lesson and of course, it being Wednesday we had dinner at 100 Montaditos.
