Route: Redlodge, Montana- Tower Fall, Wyoming (and around Yellowstone)
Distance Driven: 373 km
Today was a busy day at Yellowstone, so there are lots of pictures. We started by driving the Beartooth All-American Road to get into the park. The lady at the tourist office really hyped the road and pronounced it all-'murican. It was a pretty spectacular drive, but Jasper slept the whole time so we didn't stop at any of the lookouts. Our strategy is that if he is sleeping in the car, we keep driving.

Bison by the road. |
As soon as we entered the park, we were greeted by hundreds of bison along the road, and some on the road. We managed to snag a campsite right in the park, so we set up camp and then set out to explore.
First stop was to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone to see the canyon, waterfalls and lots of other tourists! Some Chinese tourists even took their picture with Jasper.
We stopped at a couple other spots along the south loop of the park. Jasper was having a tough time with all the in and out of the car. He really wasn't happy to get back in his car seat!

With lots of friends at Old Faithful. |
We made the requisite stop at Old Faithful and caught it erupting. It is quite the complex they have surrounding the geyser! We took a walk around to see some of the other geysers, but none of them erupted while we were there.

Jasper and his Dad enjoying some other geysers. |
The weather turned in the evening, and we could see thunderstorms forming all around us. We made one last stop at the Grand Prismatic Spring, where I jogged around the boardwalk to see the spring while Pat and Jasper waited on the bench. We managed to avoid getting soaked and were treated to a beautiful sunset on the drive home.

What a sunset! |
Instead of making dinner in the rain, we decided to head to the Canyon Lodge to grab a bite to eat. I dressed Jasper in his warmest (and cutest) PJs to be ready for bed while we ate dinner.
