Route: Victoria-Little Qualicum Falls
Distance Driven: 169 km
We had a slower start to the morning, mostly because I really wanted to go for a swim in the waterfalls at our campground. We'd walked down there the night before and saw some kids go in. It wasn't as cold as I'd feared, probably about the same temperature as the ocean at the beaches on Gabriola.

Our plan for the day was to head into Victoria to see my friend Kate from U of T. Unfortunately, Kate was feeling under the weather, but we made it work. Kate was very wary of getting Jasper sick, so we made sure to keep a safe distance and use hand sanitizer. It was really great to catch up with Kate, I think it had been at least 3 years since we'd seen eachother. A lot has changed in that time!

Kate treated us to lunch at Re-bar, an excellent vegetarian restaurant in Victoria. It's always exciting to be at a restaurant with so many vegetarian options! Kate pointed us in the right direction for Victoria tourist-ing, and headed home to rest up. I hope you feel better, Kate!

We wandered around Victoria harbour, and up to Beacon Hill Park. The petting zoo was a highlight of the park, as were the pretty gardens and ponds. I'm sure we exposed Jasper to way more germs at the petting zoo than from Kate's sickness.

After a pit stop at Long and McCuade to buy a green ukulele, we headed north and stopped for the night at Little Qualicum Falls.
