Route: Whitehorse-Atlin, BC
Distance driven: 176 km
With the long weekend ahead of us, we departed for a camping destination that none of us had been to before, Atlin BC. Although it is in British Columbia, it is only accessible by road from the north. There was a co-ed slo pitch tournament at the town's only ball park with a bunch of teams from Whitehorse playing against each other. We stopped to check it out while we ate our picnic lunch.

With some advice from the local general store owner, we picked a camping site and set out to take in some of the local attractions. First on the list was Warm Springs, so named because the water was slightly warmer than the surrounding air, but not as warm as a bathtub. There were some bubbles coming up from the middle of it. Jason and Pat waded through the algae, and then we took off.

We then did a short hike around "the grotto" (not spectacular enough to warrant a photo) and headed back to our campsite for supper. We snapped a photo of Atlin Lake (BC's largest natural freshwater lake) with the mountains in the back ground on our way back to camp.

Back at the campsite, Jasper did some yoga to limber up before chopping 8 cords of wood for our camp fire. He barely even broke a sweat, what a natural athlete!

We then made our first camp fire of our whole trip (there were so many fire bans along the way due to forest fires) and roasted some of the marshmallows we have been carrying with us since Ontario.
