Distance driven: 680 km
Jasper was ready to go in the morning, but he had to drag his sleepy Dad out of bed.
It was another crisp fall morning, and the trees were bright yellow.
We stopped at the Toad River Lodge, an Alaska Highway pit stop, where Jasper and Pat took their picture as a frog family.
We saw lots of wildlife along the highway today: bison, moose, elk, and goats. Still no bear sighting. I'm OK with that, especially when we're camping.
Jasper wasn't as happy or sleepy today, so I had to put a lot of effort into my back seat entertainment. I used all my best tricks: bad uke playing, the Juicy fruit rattle, peek-a-boo, reading every book twice and opening the window.
Finally, the little guy decided to fall asleep. I may be biased, but I think he is pretty cute when he sleeps.
The forecast was for thunderstorms, so we decided to get a hotel in Fort St. John for the night. It was a good decision, because we drove through a downpour on the way here. Now for some bad TV before a sleep in a warm bed.
