Route: Atlin- Whitehorse
Distance: 176 km
After a chilly and rainy night, we decided that it was best to head back to civilization (aka Whitehorse) today, instead of spending another day in Atlin. We will have to hike up Monarch Mountain to sample the brandy another time.
Jasper kept cozy all night in the fleece suit Warren lent him. I also insulated his bed with a blanket and made a cover out of my winter coat. The temperature went down to 5 degrees, so it was a good test for some of our potentially chilly camping nights on the drive home. I still need to master how to get out of my mummy sleeping bag in a hurry when Jasper starts crying.

Abominable Jasper. |
Jason put up a tarp so we could stay dry while eating our pancakes, then we packed up all our rainy gear and headed back to the city.

Jasper was fussy and not interested in his car seat, so the three of us spent some extra time at a cafe in Atlin while Jasper calmed down.

Back in Whitehorse, there was lots of cleanup to do and dinner to cook, so Katie entertained both boys. It's fun to see them interact, Jasper loves to watch everything Warren does and Warren likes to touch Jasper's face and head.

Story time back in Whitehorse. |
Warren loves the camera and has a smile ready whenever we bring it out. Both boys have a bit of a cold right now. This is the first time Jasper has been sick, so it's new for him and for his parents. Luckily, we're here for a few more days so he should have time to get better before we're back on the road.
